Do I need to learn the Vietnamese alphabet first?
No. This course uses phonetic pronunciation (English letters with accent marks) so you can start speaking immediately.
Is this Northern or Southern accent?
Both. We teach you the differences and let you choose which to practice. Northern (Hanoi) is considered “standard” but Southern (Saigon) is widely spoken in tourism areas.
How long will it take to finish?
Most students complete the course in 2-4 weeks practicing 30 minutes per day. You can go faster or slower — it is self-paced.
Can I take this course while traveling in Vietnam?
Absolutely. All materials are mobile-friendly and downloadable. Practice in your homestay, on the train, or before bed.
Will this help me with Lao or Khmer?
Not directly — but learning one Southeast Asian tonal language makes learning the others much easier. We offer Lao and Khmer courses too (coming soon).
“Before this course, I could only say ‘pho.’ After 2 weeks, I bargained for a silk scarf in Hoi An and the vendor smiled and gave me a discount!”
— Sophie, 19, Australia
“My homestay mom in the Mekong Delta almost cried when I said ‘Cảm ơn cô’ (thank you ma’am). One sentence changed our entire relationship.”
— James, 22, Canada
“The pronunciation audio is a lifesaver. I practiced on the plane and could actually be understood when I arrived.”
— Priya, 20, India
Stop wishing. Start saying Xin chào.
